Just across the Swiss border, Lake Como stretches between steep wooded slopes, with small villages along the water and the old name Lario still in use. Many guests from Switzerland know it from a day out. A villa on the shore is another matter: there is time to follow the light on the water, the ferries and the terraces. I have no villas listed online for Lake Como at the moment, and I prefer to say so plainly.
